The Wedding Feast

We have great news! We can start looking for tickets to Malawi! Pray that the ticket prices stay low and don’t skyrocket. Our prayer is to leave for Malawi in June. God has blessed us immensely in support raising. Please pray for us as we still need about $700 more a month before we leave. Also Luke and I will be speaking several times at Grace Fellowship for a Missions Conference April 1-3. We are so excited to share more about Malawi and meet the other missionaries coming to the conference.

In Matthew 22 Jesus tells a parable about a man preparing a wedding feast for his son. When everything is ready he sends servants to gather the guests but the guests refuse to come to the party. Three times this happens and the last time the guests kill the man’s servants. Finally the man tells his servants to “Go to the street corners and invite to the banquet anyone you find”. God sent us to the street corner called Blantyre. What’s the name of your street corner? Is it Peoria, Jackson, Pine Grove, Denver, Morton, Lebanon, Dallas, Atlanta, Miami, New York City.... remember we’re all called to invited everyone to the wedding feast, He’s waiting for His guests.

"So what's your job?" "Oh, I'm a missionary."

Thank you to everyone in the Reno small group! It was so encouraging to study God’s Word, pray and share with you about the ministry God is leading us to in Malawi. Your faith shines in all your conversations and deeds. Thank you for your Christ-like example! And thank you to all in the Sutter Creek care group from Grace! All the questions and interest in what God is doing in Malawi is encouraging and gets us even more excited to serve in Blantyre (if you couldn’t tell). Thank you for lifting us and Malawi up in prayer and for obeying the Lord in the ministries He has called you to. Your faithfulness to Him spurs us on to do the same.

The Lord has been teaching us that there are ways to serve Him everywhere, in California, Illinois, Malawi and right where you are. He has called us ALL to be missionaries. We are new creatures, the old one is dead and gone. We are now followers of Jesus; meaning called by Him to leave everything and follow. No longer are we just “teachers” or “business people” or “waiters” or “moms” or “dads”; we are now first and foremost FOLLOWERS OF JESUS CHRIST (missionaries) with our vocation/job as our mission field. We pray that the realization of this truth, first Christ Follower then _______ (fill in the blank), will permeate everything we do on this earth. First I’m a missionary then I’m a shopper at the grocery store, first I’m a missionary then I’m juror number 12, first I’m a missionary then I’m a bag boy, first I’m a missionary then I’m a sales representative. He has chosen us all, by His grace, to spread His glory in the nations. Where are you serving now?
