Wrapping things up.....

Hey friends,
Sorry for the long absence from updating the blog. Things have been a bit crazy with us as we are making final preparations to leave for Malawi in June. It is so near! Praise the Lord! He has provided over 90% of our financial need and continues to give us more prayer warriors. (If you are interested in becoming one of our weekly prayer warriors please sign up for our prayer letter at the bottom of the home page of our blog).
God has blessed us in so many ways in the past few months. We could fill books with stories of God's faithfulness, provision, guidance, and constant presence. For example, while looking for plane tickets, we were shocked to find how expensive they were ($3000 per person one way online). Ahh! We had no clear conscience spending that kind of money on tickets so we prayed and a few weeks later God showed up in a huge way. The tickets dropped to $900 per person one way! And....right when we were planning to go. Ha! It's like God has got this thing rigged! He is worth trusting in.
Not only is Jesus Christ worth trusting in but He's worth losing everything for...and in doing so you gain Everything (Him). The Body of Christ has encouraged us in our inner man and God has used His people to show us His hand over and over again in this whole support team raising process. It is not just us going. It is you if you have prayed, given, or helped in anyway in reaching Malawi for Christ. I love the quote by Jim Elliot "He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose." We have seen Jesus' people come together and love the people of Malawi in an amazing way and we feel incredibly blessed to have the opportunity to be a vessel which Christ uses to bring His love from people around here to people 10,000 miles away. The journey will not always be fun and will be difficult but God is going to be glorified and that gets us stoked! Our life is but a breath when it comes to eternity so obey Scripture when the prophet Isaiah tells God's people to "spend yourselves on behalf of the poor" (Isaiah 58)....and let's do this together and watch God shake the nations with a people fully devoted Himself and to prayer on behalf of unsaved people here and in far away lands. So that they might experience the joys of salvation on this earth and 8 billion years from now. I think it's worth it.
Please pray for us as we transition cultures and move to Malawi. Pray that we can learn the language quick. Pray that we can build relationships effectively with many open doors for the Gospel to be lived out and spoken through us. We fully believe that we are helpless aside from the people of God on this side of the ocean interceding for us and the people we'll be interacting with on a daily basis. God uses the devoted, desperate, and humble prayers of normal people to change people's lives for all of eternity. In heaven, I promise you will never say, "Man! I wish i wouldn't have spent so much time on my knees!"
We'll update again soon! Love you guys!
