The day has come! We leave Monday!

"Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth. Sing to the Lord , praise His name; proclaim his salvation day after day. Declare His glory among the nations, His marvelous deeds among all peoples. For great is the Lord and most worthy of praise." -Psalm 96:1-4

This is the cry of our hearts as we rejoice in the things to come! We praise God with a new song as we board a plane for Malawi on Monday in Chicago. Christ has overwhelmingly supplied for all of our needs through you all! We have our bags packed and the Holy Spirit in us and we couldn't be more excited.

We are truly sorry that it has taken us so long to get another update out. We promise to be better once we are in Malawi! Things have been incredibly busy as we have prepared to leave.

Lyzee is feeling much better and we thank the Lord for your prayers. James 5:15,16 "the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up.....The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective." We praise Jesus for our team comprised of you individuals here in the U.S. who are fully seeking the face of Christ and His glory in our lives and in Malawi.

There is nothing like serving the Lord. Nothing in this world even comes close. All glory be to Jesus for He has saved us and given us a new and living hope and we are no longer citizens of this world but we are only "aliens and strangers on earth..." No, this world is not our home! "Instead, we are longing for a better country-- a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called our God, for He has prepared a city for them." (Heb.11:13,16). Please pray for us to that end. That God would enable to see this world and the people that are in it more than ever with His eyes and His heart. We want to be as effective for the Gospel as possible so that we do not waste our lives or even one day in this short life (compared to all eternity).

The last few weeks have been a whirlwind: saying goodbye to dear friends and family in California and now doing the same in Illinois. Though it has been difficult, we have been strengthened by the Lord and encouraged by you all deeply. Please ask God that He'd really watch over us on Monday-Wednesday as we are in route to Malawi. Pray that He would get all 10 of our bags there with us. Pray that He would give us amazing opportunities along the way as we brush shoulders with people from all around the world in airports and planes. Tomorrow is not guaranteed so we want to not let a day go by without being the light of Christ to lost people.

Pray that we would not be ashamed of the Gospel of Christ and that the fear of man would be extinguished by the burning fire of the Holy Spirit of God inside our hearts and the reality of eternity. Please pray that we'd connect with all the right people in Blantyre when we land and the transition would be good.

We know that you will be praying for our physical health but we ask (much more importantly) that you'd pray for our spiritual health and that we'd walk in newness of life one day at a time and allow God to change our hearts to be more like Christ on a daily basis. That is what we need. Health and safety are soooooo secondary. Those things come and go but we do not want our enthusiasm and joy in Jesus to jolt one bit.

I know this is a long update but we really wanted to tell you what God has been teaching us. Lastly, i'd like to share with you a passage that we've memorized recently that has rocked our world. 2 Chronicles 16:9-- "For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him." Is your heart fully committed to Him? He wants to use you for His glory in your situation right now. Pray that we will be fully committed to Christ and seek His face more than ever before.

Next time we update will be from Malawi! Thanks for everything guys! You mean the world to us!

For His glory in the nations,

Luke, Becca, and Lyzee

Acts 28:31--"Boldly and without hindrance he preached the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ." May it be said of every one of us!

  5. Praying for you and your family as you transition. May God increase your spiritual fervor for serving the Lord while you transition, and see the ways God is using you in many people's lives.
Thank you for giving myself and so many others a Godly example of serving and going and making disciples.
You all will remain in my prayers.
    In Christ,
    Andrea Kier
